Where constant verbal communication between staff members is required, we offer our compact, reliable and rugged BR777 two-way business radios.
Created with productivity in mind, it's perfect for today's larger, fast-paced restaurants. These are the types of radios you've seen used by hosts, managers and bus staff to coordinate their efforts to prepare tables for new guests as fast as possible. The radios are also often used by cashiers, kitchen staff, bartenders and valet parking attendants.
In hotels, theses radios are used by managers, security, cleaning staff, bellmen and special event coordinators.
This quality electronic equipment is the state-of-the-art in high-tech engineering. Skillfully constructed with the finest components, its circuitry is solid-state and mounted on a rugged printed circuit board. It's designed for reliable and trouble-free performance in the abusive hospitality environment for years to come.
The LRS BR777 is comparable to the Motorola CL1410 but is superior in a number of key areas. Please see the comparison chart below.
This listing is for a basic set of two radios with holsters and dual charger. A variety of headset types are available (sold separately). Shopping cart options are described below. Listings for individual radio components are also found below.
What are Business Radios?
Judging by size and shape alone, business radios initially appear to be very similar to walkie-talkie handheld radios. Business radios are also small and both transmit and receive for two-way communication. The features that distinguish a "business radio" are:
- Design for Constant, Comfortable and Unobtrusive Use: Business radios, especially those designed for hospitality, are designed to be carried and used constantly. They are as small and lightweight as possible so they can be worn all day clipped to a belt or carried in a pocket (the BR777 is smaller than most cellphones). Headsets are typically used to keep the radios quiet and conversations private. The headsets are also small and very light so they can be worn continuously. The headsets have push-to-talk switches that are usually clipped to shirt collars so the radio itself does not have to be handled. The radios also have voice-activated transmission for hands-free operation if needed. There are silent call systems to keep the business area quiet. Batteries need to be long-lasting (more than a typical workshift) and must recharge quickly.
- Rugged Construction and Long Warranties: Business radios are sturdier than consumer radios, and hospitality business radios need to be among the strongest of all. The BR777 is designed for the rough restaurant or hotel business and includes a two-year warranty, one of the longest warranties available.
- Business Band Frequency Channels: Business radios use the band of frequencies that are reserved for business use and not family use or bands used for other purposes.
- Power and Range: Business radios are typically ten times more powerful than consumer radios. The BR777, in the hospitality setting, is powerful enough to cover large hotels, their upper floors and their grounds, let alone their restaurants. The range is up to five miles in open air.
- Channels, Frequencies and Privacy: Business radios offer a selection of "channels" which are made from a large combination of available frequencies and privacy codes. This assures that your business communications can be free of crosstalk from other business users and also unlikely to be overheard by outsiders. The BR777 allows you to create four different channels that you can rapidly switch between.
- Cloning Capability: Business radios have channels that are programmed alike (by frequency and privacy code) so the radios can work together. When you have many radios, it is important to have an easy way to change the programming for all of them. The BR777 uses a cloning cable to quickly transfer the channel settings between radios.
- Batteries and Chargers: Business radios have built-in rechargeable batteries and racks of charging docks. The radios are returned to charging docks when not in use. The BR777 can last 13 hours between charges and can fully charge in only 1.5 hours.
- Headsets: Business radios typically use small, light and unobtrusive headsets to keep noise levels down and communications private. Typical headsets use in-the-ear speakers and tiny boom mikes. "CIA-style" (accoustic surveillance style) headsets use clear plastic tubes to channel sound instead of wires so they are as unnoticeable as possible.
