News as of 1/18/2013
- IPro Version 40.0.25 is now available for downloading.
- Installation passwords change periodically. Save your password in a text file
along with your installation file. Call us at 805-375-7000 if your password is lost or not valid.
- Note: We do not supply passwords or downloads for obsolete versions.
- Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 Users: Avoid keeping your work data in the Program Files folder. When you make a new
User's Company and choose its data folder, use a folder in your Documents folder instead of the
Program Files folder if you can.
- Windows 7 - 8 Users: For IPro's purposes, Vista, Windows 7 and 8 are the same. The setup configuration
instructions are same for Vista, Windows 7 and 8. Be careful to read the Important Startup Instructions in the Help
for details.
General Instructions
- The download below is for new installations of the IPro Series 40 FoodService software.
It may also be used to upgrade or repair your IPro software.
- You can bookmark this page and come back to it again if you need to download again.
- If you have problems installing, see the troubleshooting section below.
- These downloads require a password to install. The password is usually a number. (There is no point in downloading unless you have
the password that was sent to you by email.)
- Save the password in a text file or email file along with your installation file. You may need
it later and we may not be able to provide old passwords if you lose it.
- Print this page with your browser's print feature (usually File->Print) for reference.
To Download and Install IPro 40:
The download below installs IPro 40 and its required environment (.dll, .ocx files etc.).
- Click on this sentence to download
the IPro40 installation program. The file is called "IPro40025Install.exe". It is
about 18.8 MB and it installs the IPro version 40.0.25 program files.
- Download the install program file to your hard disk and note the following:
- Ignore or bypass security notices during installation. (Highly specialized
products with limited distribution such as IPro normally cause various "unknown" or "unregistered" warnings.)
- It is usually best to use the Save option and save it to your desktop. Your desktop is the
easiest place to find the file on your computer.
- If you choose to save the file somewhere other than your desktop, be sure to carefully note the path
or folder that you choose- you will need to know it to you run the installation program.
- The simplest choice is use the Run option instead of Save.
- The advantage of using Save instead of Run is that if you need to run the install program more than
once, if it is saved, you do not have to download it from this web site again (except to update it).
- Open or run the "IPro40025Install.exe" file as you would any setup software.
- Enter the password we sent to you by email when requested by the installation software.
- The installation software may require that you uninstall the previous version of IPro first.
This means the IPro 40 version, not the IPro 30 version. To uninstall IPro 40:
- Click the Windows Start button and then select the Control Panel.
- Select the Add or Remove Programs feature.
- Select the IPro 40 program from the list of programs.
- Click the Remove button to uninstall the IPro 40 software.
- Start IPro 40 by clicking on the IPro 40 icon on your desktop or in the program menu.
Installation Troubleshooting
This IPro upgrade normally installs without any error messages or long waits. But if you experience problems:
Asks for Password: The first thing that happens when you run the IPro install is it
asks for a password. The password was sent to you by email when you ordered the software and is a
seven digit number. If you cannot find the password or your password does not work, write us at
"Orders@FoodSoftware.com" or phone us at 805-375-7000.
Password Does Not Work: If you just ordered the software and the password does not work, the main thing
is to be extra careful and try again. The password was sent to you by email when you ordered the software and is a
seven digit number. If the IPro version changed since you last downloaded, your old password will not work. Phone
us at 805-375-7000 about the current password.
Security Warnings: Ignore or bypass security notices during installation. (Highly specialized
products with limited distribution such as IPro normally cause various "unknown" or "unregistered" warnings.)
Installation Gets Stuck: IPro normally only takes a few minutes to install. If the installation
program seems to hang for more than a minute or two, something is wrong. The usual things to check are:
- Turn off all anti-virus and anti-spyware software and try again. This is the usual problem.
- Make sure you have full administration rights (log on as administrator) so that IPro can install in all the folders it needs.
This installation only needs access to the IPro 40 installation folder, which is usually C:\Program Files\FoodSoftware\IPro40\
- Download the IPro upgrade install file again - the first try may have been corrupted.
Errors During Installation: Confirm that the downloaded file is about 18.8 MB by right clicking on the file
and then clicking on "Properties". Incomplete or corrupt file transfers may appear to download successfully
but create numerous errors when you run the installation program or the actual program.
If this is the case, you can return to this page and download the installation file again for as many times
as needed to get a good download. If you still can't get a good download after a few tries, we
will send the file by email instead.
Errors on Program Start:
- Non-US Users: For users outside of the United States, IPro requires US-style system dates (MM/DD/YYYY) or a Type Mismatch error
will occur when you first start IPro. To set the date style, from
the Windows Task Bar Start Button, go to Settings --> Control Panel --> Regional Settings --> Date.
- Other problems: See Errors During Installation above. Uninstall IPro, re-download
and re-install, reboot your computer, and try again. Be sure you are logged on
as the administrator.
Errors while Running IPro
If you are using Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 and an overflow error occurs when you post a worklist, you need to set Vista compatibility settings
as follows:
- Right click on the IPro Series 40 program or shortcut icon and select Properties.
- Click on the Compatibility tab.
- Near the top of the tab, set the compatibility mode to XP Service Pack 2.
- Near the bottom of the tab, check the Run as Administrator check box.
- Apply the change.
